Kingston men indicted on federal murder charges

BROOKLYN – Three Kingston men were indicted by a federal grand jury in Brooklyn on charges of murder conspiracy. A New York City man was also charged.
The men, members or associates of the 18th Street gang, were allegedly involved in a murder conspiracy in Ulster County on October 25, 2017.
Arrested were Israel Mediola Flores, 23, Sergio Gerrardo Herrera-Hidalgo, 19, and Cristian Perez, 20, all of Kingston, and Yanki Misael Cruz-Mateo, 19, of Jamaica, Queens.
Flores, Herrera-Hidalgo, and Cruz-Mateo were each charged with killing a fellow gang member they thought was a law enforcement informant. Perez was charged with aiding Cruz-Mateo evade police capture.
Participating in the investigation were FBI, State Police, Ulster County District Attorney’s Office and Kingston City Police.
