ALBANY – The Town of Warwick has been awarded a $100,000 grant to buy a plow truck for its public works department.
The town has an aging plow truck fleet with 13 vehicles that are over 10 years old. The town has no spare parts should one break down.
The grant was secured by Senator John Bonacic through the State and Municipal Facilities Program.
“The Town of Warwick has over 220 miles of roads and this grant will allow the highway department to keep the roads clear and safe during inclement weather. It will also save local taxpayers money,” said Bonacic.
“Without this $100,000 grant, it would be impossible for the town to afford this vital piece of equipment that is critical to keeping our roads open and safe for our residents,” said Town Supervisor Michael Sweeton.
