MONTICELLO – Sullivan County Legislature Chairman Luis Alvarez has been appointed to the New York State Association of Counties’ Standing Committee on Public Safety.
Alvarez retired following a more than 30-year career with the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office.
“NYSAC’s standing committees play an important role in helping us shape our policies and positions on legislative issues,” said organization president Putnam County Executive MaryEllen Odell.
NYSAC represents New York’s 62 counties and their taxpayers before federal, state and local officials on issues related to county government.
