MONROE – Everyone was Irish on Saturday, St. Patrick’s Day,
as it was celebrated with corned beef and cabbage, green beer and lots
of socializing at local pubs and restaurants.

The Hudson Valley Police Pipes and Drums bagpipers were performing at
more than half-dozen locations around the region. Piper Jim Kane said
they wanted to give back to the community on St. Patty’s Day with
stops are O’Toole’s Irish Pub in Monroe, Irish Eyes in New
Windsor and several other stops.

“The bagpipers are amazing,” said Barbara Gioffre of Monroe,
who was enjoying the festivities at O’Toole’s. “Chris
and Tommy O’Toole are the most amazing people,” she said.

Gina White was having “a great time” with friends at the pub.

Brothers Sean and Tim Finnegan enjoy the atmosphere there every year and
it was an extra special day for Tim as he had just learned he was going
to be a dad.
