NEW LEBANON – State Police charged a New Lebanon man on charges that he allegedly had inappropriate sexual contact with a child under the age of 13 on three separate occasions.
Keith Benson, 47, was charged with predatory sexual assault against a child, criminal sex act, and three counts of sexual abuse, all as felonies, as well as three counts of misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.
State Police in conjunction with the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office, the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office and the Pittsfield Police Department conducted an eight-month investigation that lead to the arrest of Benson.
Benson was arrested on Tuesday, March 13 and sent to the Columbia County Jail without bail pending a future court appearance.
