Orange County Human Rights Commission to honor 2018 award winners

GOSHEN – Six individuals will be honored next month by the Orange County Human Rights Commission for their roles in preserving the rights of all residents.
The honorees are Newburgh Free Academy student Asariah McLymore, Human Rights activists Aaron and Patty Baughman of Port Jervis, RECAP Board Member Horace Belton; Safe Harbors Executive Director Lisa Silverstone, and Legal Services of the Hudson Valley Attorney in Charge Rachel Simons.
“The commission is excited to honor these impressive individuals who are making a difference in our community and exemplify what the commission stands for,” said human rights commission Executive Director Inaudy Esposito.
County Executive Steven Neuhaus said the awardees “serve as a wonderful example of citizens who are committed to making Orange County a better place to live.” He said they play “an important role in preserving the rights of all residents.”
The honorees will be celebrated at an April 18 luncheon at the Graham Skea Lodge at Thomas Bull Memorial Park in Montgomery.
