CARMEL – Putnam County
Sheriff Robert Langley, Jr. has appointed Harry Tompkins III as captain
of Patrol.
He has served with the New York City Housing Police Department, the Town
of Putnam Valley Police Department, Village of Larchmont Police Department
and Westchester County Police Department.
His 28-year career ranges from highway patrol and the motorcycle unit
to detective of general investigations.
As a detective, Tompkins was assigned to work with the New York City DEA
and went on to oversee the Northern Westchester Narcotics Heroin Task
Force where he worked in conjunction with the FBI, IRS, ATF and other
law enforcement agencies.
