GOSHEN – A half-dozen
developers are planning to build hotels in Orange County to fill more
of the demand for rooms in the Mid-Hudson region.

Orange County Partnership President Maureen Halahan said plans are in
the works as major tourist attractions supplement existing ones in the
area.

“There are hotel developers that have purchased land all along that
corridor and are going through their due diligence to create new hotels
on that corridor from Woodbury Common all the way to the Town of Wallkill,”
she said.
That Route 17 corridor extends from Woodbury Common northwest to the
planned Legoland amusement park in Chester and the new casino in Sullivan
County.
