KINGSTON – The owner of a digital marketing firm in Kingston announced on Thursday that will challenge longtime Assemblyman Kevin Cahill of Kingston for the Democratic nomination.
Abe Uchitelle, president of DragonSearch, said it is time for new blood in Albany.
“He has been in office for many decades and I think that we need someone who is very involved in the community and I respect the service he has provided and I think it is time for a change and I think that our community has evolved over the last decade or so and I think that our representatives should evolve as well and I think the community is ready for a change,” he said.
Uchitelle said should he not win the endorsement of the Democratic Party, he will challenge Cahill in the primary.
The 103rd Assembly district includes Woodstock, Red Hook, Rhinebeck, Kingston, Rosendale, New Paltz and Gardiner.
