TOWN OF NEWBURGH – A medical marijuana dispensary will open in the Town of Newburgh next month and Curaleaf New York expects to attract qualified patients from the entire Mid-Hudson Valley region.
The facility will be located at 8 North Plank Road next to Alexis Diner off Interstate 84 exit 10.
PalliaTech NY will operate the dispensary under the brand name Curaleaf.
Its President Michelle Bodner said the medical-grade cannabis may be used by persons with chronic pain, PTSD, cancer, MS or neuropathies.
“Our dispensaries are really more like wellness centers,” Bodner said. “Patients are met by New York State licensed pharmacists who consult with the patients, they choose a treatment and then they are given a particular form for the illness that they are suffering from.”
Bodner expects her facility to open by mid-March. The company will also
be opening dispensaries in Carle Place on Long Island, in Queens and Clinton
county.
They also operate facilities in Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Florida, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Maryland.
