Seven of New York’s top 25 safest communities are in Hudson Valley

HUDSON VALLEY – Seven municipalities in Rockland and Westchester counties with populations of at least 45,000 rank among the top 25 safest communities in New York State, according to SafeHome.org.

Ranked number one in the state is the Town of Ramapo with a safety score of 91.25. The town also placed number four in the country.
The City of Yonkers ranked second lowest in the state with a safety score of 88.61. The city also came in as the 30th lowest community in the national.
The Town of Greenburgh, with a safety score of 88.24, ranked third.
The City of New Rochelle was ranked fourth in New York with a safety score of 86.41 and 66th safety in the nation.
The City of White Plains was ranked fifth in the state with a safety score of 86.09 and 77th nationwide.
The Town of Clarkstown, with a safety score of 85.7, ranked sixth in the state and 86th in the nation.
The City of Mount Vernon, with a safety score of 83.31, ranked 12th in the state.

The 101 safe communities in America were based on those with populations
of over 50,000.
