TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – A two-car crash shortly after 5:30 on Sunday
evening on Route 9 near Sharon Drive in the Town of Poughkeepsie sent
two people to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police said a 2006 Dodge Durango, driven by a 42-year-old City of Poughkeepsie
man was traveling northbound when he struck a center guard rail causing
the vehicle to overturn and strike a 2002 Kia Sedona, driven by a 62-year-old
City of Poughkeepsie woman.
No one else was in the vehicles.
Route 9 northbound just north of Sharon Drive was shut down for five hours
for the accident investigation.
The Arlington Fire Department and Mobile Life Support Services were on
the scene.
Anyone who may have witnessed the accident or have additional information
is asked to call Det. Leonard at Poughkeepsie Town Police at 845-485-3670.
Police did not release the names of the injured individuals.
