ALBANY – Governor Cuomo set April 24 as a special election date for two vacant state legislative seats.
The 102nd Assembly seat is vacant following the resignation of Peter
Lopez, a Republican, who earlier this year was appointed regional director
of the US Environmental Protection Agency. That district encompasses all
or portions of the counties of Ulster, Greene, Columbia, Delaware, Albany,
Otsego and Schoharie.
The 37th Senate District seat in Westchester County is vacant following the resignation of Democrat George Latimer, who was elected as Westchester County executive.
Nine other state legislative slots are also vacant and will be filled in special elections, also called on April 24.
