Woman arrested in hit-and-run fatality

NEW CITY – A 48-year-old Congers woman was arrested today (Monday)
for the hit-and-run death of Manuel Aguaiza of New City that occurred
on December 19, 2017.

Following a lengthy criminal investigation, Clarkstown Police detectives
arrested Jodi Sarf, who surrendered to police with her attorney.

She was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injury resulting
in death as a felony. Sarf was arraigned and released on her own recognizance.

At about 10:30 p.m. on December 19, Aguaiza, who was 40 years old, was
crossing route 304 at Third Street in New City when he was struck by an
SUV. He was transported to Nyack Hospital where he later died.
