FISHKILL – A Beacon man has been arrested on Interstate 84 in the Town of Fishkill on drug charges.
State Police pulled over Darren Atkins, 56, for speeding at noon on Wednesday and a narcotics detection K-9 alerted to the vehicle. A search yielded marijuana and crack-cocaine. Atkins also displayed signs of drug impairment.
Atkins was charged with felony drug possession, driving while ability impaired by drugs and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was sent to the Dutchess County Jail without bail pending a future court appearance.
