TOWN OF SOUTHEAST – Police almost had to call out the bloodhounds to find a missing Connecticut State Police K-9 in Putnam County.
New York State Department of Environmental Conservation forest rangers responded to a request from New York State Police for assistance in searching for a missing police bloodhound. The dog got loose from its handler on December 21 when the officer fell in a mountainous area along the state border.
The rangers assisted in the search that led to locating the dog the following morning. It was uninjured but entangled in a fence on the state line.
