The sign says it all

BREWSTER – The true meaning of Christmas was experienced Monday in Putnam County when Brewster’s First Baptist Church opened its doors for a special luncheon.
Pastor Travis Mitchell described the event as the “community coming together. Christmas is about serving on Jesus’ birthday. We are giving and serving the less fortunate be they homeless, alone, lonely, have no place to go or just need a meal.”
The pastor told the 100 in attendance that “Jesus told us to go and serve and don’t forget about those people who are forgotten about.”
Al Anderson of Brewster dressed for the occasion. Wearing his Santa outfit, Anderson called the holiday giving the “real meaning of Christmas.”
Pastor Mitchell gave special thanks to area restaurants for donating a sumptuous meal as well to a small army of volunteers who donated their time on Christmas Day.
