Two Port Jervis men sentenced for crimes in Pennsylvania

MILFORD, PA – A Port Jervis man was sentenced in Pike County, Pennsylvania Court for cashing workers’ compensation checks issued to his dead father.
Robert Long, 51, was given 2 ½ years of probation and fined $500 for theft by deception. Between June 29, 2016 and January 19, 2017, he allegedly cashed the checks totaling $5,600 at a Matamoras business.
In an unrelated case, Louis Breitenbach, 22, of Port Jervis, was sentenced to 6 months of probation and fined $250 for theft by deception.  On March 11, 2017, Breitenbach stole a microwave from a retail store in Westfall Township and then returned it to the store for store credit.
