Green & Grey Patrols conduct enforcement during opening of big game hunting season

MONTICELLO – State Environmental Conservation Officers and State Police teamed up during the opening weekend of the big game hunting season, from November 18 through 21, to conduct saturation patrols.
During the four-day detail, the officers investigated 31 complaints and initiated criminal actions that resulted in 100 charges 0 18 misdemeanors and 82 violation-level offenses.
Eight antlered deer, five antlered deer heads and two bears were confiscated, along with 71 pounds of processed venison.
As the season continues, the two law enforcement agencies remind everyone to be safe, whether it be in the woods, at home or on the roads.
