SAUGERTIES – Former Congressman Maurice Hinchey, who died last Wednesday, will be laid to rest in his hometown of Saugerties this Wednesday.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home.
His funeral procession will form 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, at the corner of John and Lafayette streets.
The funeral will be at St. John the Evangelist Church where at 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Interment will be private at the discretion of the family.
Hinchey, who was 79, served in the Assembly from 1975 to 1992 and then in the U.S. House, until retirement in 2013.
