DEERPARK – A Deerpark man was arrested late Thursday afternoon on felony charges of possessing marijuana after town police were called to a report of a burglary in progress at a residence on Neversink Drive.
Two officers and a K-9 checked the house. The K-9 alerted the officers to the presence of a marijuana grow house there.
A search warrant was obtained and executed resulting in the recovery of plants and dried marijuana weighing some 13 ounces, along with lights, timers, and fertilizers used in the growing operations.
A propane fueled heater was also located in the room which was not properly vented.
Eliahu Eli, 29, of that address was arrested and sent to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or bond.
