HAINES FALLS – Two state Environmental Conservation forest rangers rescued a Miami Beach, Florida who was injured as she hiked at Kaaterskill Falls on Saturday afternoon.
The 46-year-old woman suffered an injured ankle near the lower pool of the falls and was unable to walk out on her own.
Two rangers responded following a call to Greene County 911, splinted her ankle and prepared her for a carryout.
The Palenville, Tannersville, Haines Falls and Centerville fire departments assisted her. Once out to Route 23A, the woman was transported to the hospital via Hunter Ambulance.
