CARMEL – A Brewster High School teacher waived extradition from Connecticut on Tuesday and was returned to Putnam County to face charges that he had sex with a female 16-year-old student.
Christopher Vlangas, 41, of Sherman, Connecticut, was arraigned in Carmel Town Court and sent to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $150,000 cash bail or $250,000 bond.  He allegedly had sex with the underage girl in the towns of Southeast and Patterson.
On October 12, a high school staffer received information about the alleged sexual relationship and notified the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, which began the investigation.
