Storms knocks out power to over 7,000 O&R customers

PEARL RIVER – The heavy
rain and strong winds that rolled through the region today knocked out
power to some 7,800 Orange and Rockland Utilities customers. The outages
were across the utility’s territory.

As of 2:30 p.m., power was restored to 3,500 customers with crews working
to restore service to the remaining 4,300 customers.

The turbulent weather is expected to calm down at mid-evening.
