CARMEL – Putnam County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Lex will receive a bullet and stab protective vest being donated by Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.
The non-profit Massachusetts organization has provided over 2,600 protective vests throughout all 50 states at a cost of over $2.1 million, with funds raised through private and corporate donations.
The funds to furnish the vest for the Putnam Sheriff’s Office were raised and donated by Girl Scout Troop 12524 of North Hampton, New Hampshire. K9 Lex’s vest will be embroidered with the sentiment, “Gifted by Girl Scout Troop 12524 North Hampton, NH” and delivery is expected in eight to 10 weeks.
The free vest program is available for dogs that are actively employed in the US with law enforcement or related agencies.
