Full house at Neuhaus event

NEW WINDSOR – Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus hosted retired U.S.
Navy SEAL Team Six hero Robert O’Neill at an event that attracted
several hundred guests at Anthony’s Pier 9 in Newburgh on Wednesday
night.
The program included tributes to O’Neill from the FDNY, NYPD and
a family who lost their daughter during the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
“We were honored to host Rob O’Neill, an American hero,
in Orange County on Wednesday night,” Neuhaus said. “His mere
presence was inspirational and we are grateful that he shared his story
with us. The tributes from the FDNY, NYPD and a family who lost their
23-year-old daughter during the 9-11 terrorist attacks deeply moved the
audience. I’m want to thank Mr. O’Neill and to the hundreds
of guests who attended the event.”
O’Neill participated in more than 400 missions during his decorated
career as a SEAL, including the Bin Laden raid in Abbottabad, Pakistan
in May of 2011, the operation to save Captain Richard Phillips during
the Maersk Alabama hijacking in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Somalia,
and Operation Red Wings in Afghanistan in which he helped save wounded
SEAL Marcus Luttrell from Taliban Forces. He retired from the Navy in
2012 as Senior Chief Petty Officer after bravely serving our country for
16 years.
