Construction worker dies after falling from scaffolding

BREWSTER – A Cortlandt
Manor man died Wednesday morning after falling 15 to 20 feet from hydro-mobile
scaffolding.

State and Village of Brewster Police responded to 899 Route 22 in Brewster
at 7:30 a.m. after he fell in what police called an apparent construction
accident.

After Keith Bonnes, 52, fell, a co-worker called 911 to report the incident.
First responders and police arrived to render medical assistance. The
victim reportedly sustained a head and chest injury from the fall, police
said.

He was transported to Danbury Hospital by EMStar ambulance and was reported
to be conscious. When he arrived at the hospital, he went into cardiac
arrest and was pronounced dead several hours after the accident.

Police said the incident, which appears to accidental, remains under investigation.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been notified.
