NEW CITY – Lt. Raymond McCullagh, who worked his way up from patrol, has been appointed Clarkstown police chief.
Town Supervisor George Hoehmann called McCullagh “a cop’s cop (and) a true public servant with a deep commitment to the police department and our community.”
McCullagh has served with the Clarkstown force for 28 years.  He spent four years with NYPD.
The new chief was selected from a Rockland County civil service list. Hoehmann and the town board voted to appoint McCullagh at its Thursday night session.
