MONTICELLO – A Monticello man faces 21 years to life in state prison when sentenced in December in the murder of his boss at the Pardess Bungalow Colony on Old Liberty Road in the Town of Thompson on September 21, 2016.
Rickey Bolden, 37, of Monticello pled guilty on Tuesday to a charge of murder admitting that he intentionally killed John Ferrari, 61, of Riverdale, New Jersey. Bolden admitted to striking Ferrari several times in and about the head with a shovel.
Bolden was employed as a maintenance worker for Ferrari, who was the caretaker at the bungalow colony, when he committed the murder.
Sullivan County District Attorney James Farrell said under terms of the plea agreement, Bolden is expected to be sentenced to 21 years to life on December 20 by County Court Judge Michael McGuire.
Bolden was arrested on September 24, 2016 after an investigation by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, which was assisted by the State Police, the Sullivan County DA’s Office and State Police Forensic Identification Unit.
