PORT JERVIS – A formal 2018 budget proposal for the City of Port Jervis isn’t ready yet, but the Common Council got a preview this week.
Code and Finance Liaison Kirstin Trovei said the numbers point higher.
“As of now, it looks like we are expecting at least an approximate ten percent increase based on the following items: three percent increase for the bond, three percent increase for contractual operational costs, such as salaries and a four percent increase in the health insurance increases.”
Trovei said they have requested numbers from city department heads.  Mayor Kelly Decker will then draft a proposed spending plan for council review.
