Port Ewen man charged with vehicular homicide in death of bicyclist

PORT EWEN – A Port Ewen man is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and is in the Ulster County Jail without bail in connection with a fatal accident at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office said John Ronk, 40, was driving an SUV while under the influence of alcohol when he struck a bicyclist. The victim later died at a Kingston hospital.
The investigation is continuing and additional charges may be filed.
The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
