Long Island man charged with trying to cash forged checks in Kingston

KINGSTON – A North Babylon man, who is on parole for forgery, has been arrested by Kingston City Police after he allegedly tried to cash a fraudulent check at the Chase Bank branch in Kingston Plaza by using someone else’s identity.
Steven Digsby, 55, was arrested on Thursday afternoon and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument and one count of resisting arrest.  When he was approached by officers, who were called to the scene, he attempted to flee.
Digsby was sent to the Ulster County Jail without bail.
