Norwegian Air launched its Stewart Service in June

STEWART AIRPORT – Norwegian Air’s flights between Stewart International Airport and Europe have been operating with load factors over 90 percent ever since they began service this summer.
As has been predicted, domestic airlines operating at Stewart are considering adding routes because of the influx of large numbers of potential passengers, and that is “a big possibility,” said airport Manager Ed Harrison.
“We are always in discussions with them and they are seeing increased traffic and we are excited about the future,” Harrison said.
It has been a hope of airport officials and the community to bring back Atlanta and Chicago service, two routes that were successful in the 1990s, but where later pulled from the Stewart roster.
Harrison said the airport is also in discussions with other airlines about operating from Stewart.
