WHITE PLAINS – A Yonkers man has been arraigned on a grand jury
indictment on a charge of killing his wife.

Joseph Abraham, 54, has been charged with murder and two counts of criminal
possession of a weapon in connection with the death of 24-year-old Amanda
Trenck Abraham.

At around 1:30 a.m. on May 21, an argument broke out between the couple
in their apartment. At about 9 a.m., Abraham was found unconscious in
the bathtub, which was filled with blood and water. Cuts were visible
on both of his wrists and the right side of his neck.

Ms. Abraham’s body was in their bedroom slumped over the bed with
a large amount of blood visible around her.
Emergency services personnel responded with Abraham taken to the hospital.
Mrs. Abraham was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two knives were recovered at the location.

Abraham was interviewed at the hospital, read his Miranda warnings and
arrested in the killing.

The medical examiner’s office determined the cause of the victim’s
death to be sharp force injuries to her neck, chest and upper extremities
involving ribs, jugular veins and lungs.

Abraham remains incarcerated in the Westchester County Jail. If convicted,
he faces 25 years to life in prison.
