VILLAGE OF LIBERTY – A 19-year-old Liberty man, whose name police have not released, was arrested and charged with felony grand larceny for allegedly stealing a woman’s purse from her shopping cart while at the Liberty ShopRite store on July 20.
Employees chased the suspect and secured the stolen property, but the man escaped. He was later identified, located and arrested on August 25.
He was charged with grand larceny and petit larceny and sent to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $3,000 cash bail.
