WHITE PLAINS – The Environmental Protection Agency granted $1.4 million to the Ossining Water Department to help finance a water main replacement project. The funding was awarded through the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund program, which provides financial support to water systems and to state safe water programs.
Mayor Victoria Gearity said the money will offset more than half the cost of the project. “Maintaining the public infrastructure of our water system is critical to fulfilling Ossining’s commitment to ensuring safe reliable drinking water for our community,” she said.
The Ossining water system provides drinking water for more than 30,000 residents in the village and unincorporated part of the Town of Ossining.
The grant was announced by Congresswoman Nita Lowey (D, NY-17).
