MONGAUP VALLEY – A 25-year-old
Bullville woman was reported in stable condition at Westchester Medical
Center in Valhalla following a boating accident on Swinging Bridge Reservoir
Sunday afternoon.
Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty said Kelly Brohan sustained
fractures and lacerations in the incident. She was riding a wake board
being towed behind a 22-foot Axis ski boat around 4 p.m.. Friends tried
to help her onto the board and the tow rope became tangled in the propeller
pulling her under.
The sheriff’s office is investigating whether she was injured by
the rope or came in contact with the propeller, Chaboty said.
Environmental Conservation Police assisted on the scene along with the
Monticello Fire Department and Mobile Medic ambulance.
