MONTICELLO – There is a lot to be learned about delivering healthcare in Sullivan County, and Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Middletown is seizing the opportunity.
The county’s Health and Family Services commissioner, Joseph Todora, says it’s an opportunity for the county and the college.
“To have their residents come up here, students and residents take a look at some of the health services that’s we provide, community behavioral health, public health services as well as service for the gerontological community down at our adult care center.”
Todora said there is some hope this could reap a benefit for the county.
“Hopefully, we’ll encourage people to come work for Sullivan County because we’re a lovely place to live and we need more professionals.”
Improving health outcomes is a top priority for Sullivan County, which still ranks near the bottom statewide.  Recent enhancements include the opening of a Catskill Regional Medical Group facility in busy Kiamesha Lake.
