Pawling man arrested in vehicular homicide case

PATTERSON – A Pawling man is charged in a fatal crash on Route 22 just north of Route 311 in the Town of Patterson in which the passenger in another vehicle was killed.
Christopher Osborne, Jr., 44, was determined to have been driving with morphine in his system at the time of the April 29, 2015 crash at about 3:55 p.m.
At that time, Osborne was northbound on Route 22 in a pickup truck, which crossed into the southbound lane of travel and struck an SUV head-on. A passenger in that vehicle, Jean Riccobon, 63, of Carmel, died at the scene. Her husband, Mario Riccobon, then 65, of Carmel, who was driving sustained serious injuries.
Osborne, who was indicted by a Putnam County grand jury on July 31, 2017, turned himself in on August 7 and was charged with aggravated vehicular manslaughter, aggravated criminally negligent homicide, manslaughter, aggravated vehicular assault, vehicular assault, vehicular manslaughter, assault and vehicular assault.  He was sent to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or bond.
