Gipson (file): “very concerned”

RHINEBECK – Former State Senator Terry Gipson of Rhinebeck may challenge fellow Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo next year.
Gibson said he is gathering public input on the possibility. He is not at all pleased with the way government is being run of late.
“Like so my other New Yorkers, I am just very concerned about the situation we find ourselves in. I just believe the safety and security of our future is at stake and I don’t see our current governor or the state legislature really stepping up in a state of urgency to help us,” he said. “I am out there because I believe there is leadership that is needed in the state and I want to hear what others have to say.”
When asked if he could garner sufficient finances to battle Cuomo in a Democratic primary next year, Gipson said that is an issue to be addressed in the future.
Gipson served one term in the senate, after narrowly beating long-time incumbent Republican Stephen Saland in 2012.  He lost to Republican Sue Serino in 2014.
