Over $1 million allocated for Eastern Orange County Head Start programs

WASHINGTON – The US Department of Health and Human Services announced a $1.1 million grant for Head Start of Eastern Orange County, Inc., which will support early childhood programs for 227 students in Eastern Orange County.
Head Start and Early Head Start programs provide comprehensive child development programs for children from birth to age five, pregnant women, and families. The programs focus on preparing children for school.
Head Start of Eastern Orange is a non-profit organization that provides education to the more than 200 children and employs over 40 full-time staff. Their mission is to provide the highest quality program to meet the health, education and social supports of children and families so that they can be successful in school and in life.”
The grant was announced by Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand and Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney (D, NY-18).
