GOSHEN – This coming Monday
night’s dinner featuring retired General David Petraeus was originally
scheduled as a fundraiser for the Orange County Republican Party.

In light of the Stewart-based Marine Corps plane that crashed in Mississippi,
killing 15 Marines and one Navy sailor, there is going to be a shift in
the recipients of the donations, said County Executive Steven Neuhaus.

“All the proceeds, 100 percent, are going to go to the nine families
of the Marines that we lost a few weeks ago and we are going to have members
of the military, including some of the family members of the fallen, all
rallying around to raise money for it,” he said, noting it is tax
deductable through the Community Foundation of Orange County.
Nine of the Marines who lost their lives were stationed at the Stewart
Air National Guard Base Marine Reserve unit.

The dinner will be held at Falkirk Estate in Central Valley. For tickets,
at $60, call 845-610-5233.
