MONTICELLO – An altercation between two men at the West Broadway Villas apartment in Monticello on Tuesday left one man injured with a slash across his face and another man in jail.
Village Police arrested Jerome Martin, 41, of Monticello in less than
two hours after the incident on Tuesday charging him with felony assault
and criminal possession of a weapon. He was sent to the Sullivan
County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail pending further court action.
Police said an altercation between Martin and another man around 5:15 p.m. resulted in the victim, a 27-year-old Monticello man, being slashed across the left side of his face with what was described as a razor or box cutter-type weapon.
The victim was transported by Mobile Medic Ambulance to Catskill Regional Medical Center.
