CRAWFORD – A Town of Crawford man has been charged with several counts of prohibition of animal fighting after allegedly selling a pit bull puppy with a dog fighting championship bloodline through his website that advertises he breeds champion dog fighters.
Queens District Attorney Richard Brown identified the man as Dominick Barizone, 48, who was charged with 44 counts of violating sections of the state’s Agriculture and Marketing law that prohibits animal fighting, and one count of conspiracy.
Bail was set at $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond. If convicted, Barizone
faces up to four years in state prison.
According to the criminal complaint, a detective from NYPD’s Animal Cruelty Investigations Squad contacted Barizone after seeing his website, which led to the investigation and arrest.
