Over 2,000 run in Walkway Marathon

Over 2,000 hit the road on a warm Sunday

POUGHKEEPSIE – Some 2,200 athletes participated Sunday in the third
annual Walkway Marathon Race Series, attracting thousands of spectators
to cheer them on.
The best time in the full marathon was posted by Spencer Johnson, 22, of Bristol, Connecticut, with a time of 2:39:32. The top female athlete in the full marathon was Rachel Darling, 24, of Highland, with a time of 3:08:51.
The best time in the wheelchair marathon was won by Peter Gagliardo, 32, of Poughquag, with a time of 2:17:25. The top female athlete in the wheelchair marathon was Maria Bournias, 40, of Tenafly, New Jersey, with a time of 2:24:47.
The best time in the half-marathon was Ruslan Kramariuk, 25, of Kitsman, Ukraine, with a time of 1:15:39. The top female athlete in the half-marathon was Kristin Gregory, 25, of New York City, with a time of 1:31.28.
College-to-College 5K overtime time was by Stefan Morton, 21, of Emerson, New Jersey, with a time of 15:00. The top female athlete in the 5K was Nicki Nesi, 23, of Pelham, with a time of 18:05.
“The Walkway Marathon Race series has once again brought a sense of community and competition to the heart of the Hudson Valley,” said Walkway Executive Director Elizabeth Waldstein-Hart.
