DeStefano – still liked by all

MIDDLETOWN – Democratic Middletown Mayor Joseph DeStefano will apparently have smooth sailing in his re-election bid in November.
The chairman of the city Republican Committee, Joseph Masi, told Mid-Hudson News that his party will not run a candidate against the incumbent mayor.
“The mayor has been doing an excellent job,” Masi said. “People are very pleased with the direction the city is going in and so there will be nobody on the Republican line for the position of mayor.”
Masi is also a city alderman and the city’s civil service administrator.
DeStefano also ran unopposed four years ago.
