PEEKSKILL – Police are
continuing their investigation into a fatal accident on Hudson Avenue
in Peekskill on Saturday.
Peekskill Police Chief Eric Johansen identified the victim as Zhoila Zhingri,
69, of Peekskill.
Police and the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office are
trying to determine the speed of the vehicle that caused the accident
and killed Zhingri and injured three others. They were struck by a parked
car that was sent onto the sidewalk after it was hit by a vehicle travelling
west on Hudson Avenue.
A 71-year-old man and two-year-old boy remain in critical condition.
Peekskill Police were assisted at the scene by the Westchester County
District Attorney’s Office, State Police and the Westchester County
Department of Public Safety.
The Peekskill Fire Department and Peekskill EMS responded and rendered
aid to the victims.
