Another murder in Newburgh – Update!

NEWBURGH – A second murder in as many weeks in the City of Newburgh
early this morning. This time it was at a halfway house for sex offenders
and parolees at the former Pineapple Larry’s Bar building at 44
Grand Street.

Robert Munson, 61, worked for Youth Advocate Programs, Inc., which offers
transitional life skills training to homeless men, including some formerly
incarcerated persons
Munson had been an advocate for the program since 2014 and worked the
overnight shift.

Detectives are currently at the scene investigating this latest killing.

Anyone with information about this murder is asked to call Newburgh City
Police at 845-561-3131.
Last week, a 19-year-old man was shot to death on Bush Avenue and police
continue to investigate that crime as well.
