POUGHKEEPSIE – Democrat Ann Finney announced on Thursday that she will be a candidate for the Democratic Party nomination for the new position of council member-at-large for the Poughkeepsie Common Council.
Finney is an attorney and accountant. She currently serves on the common council’s Transportation Strategy Committee. She has testified as an expert witness in forensic accounting and has provided pro-bono services in civil rights cases.
With that background, Finney said she is “committed to real transparency and a balanced approach to the city’s financial challenges.”
She will formally launch her campaign at Bartlett Park on Thursday, May 25 at 5:30 p.m.
