Diana: “… giving back to the community …”

TOWN OF WALLKILL – Former Orange County Executive Edward Diana laid out his plans, Wednesday evening, for the Town of Wallkill should he win the supervisor’s race this fall.
At this point, no Democrat has announced to challenge the Republican candidate.
Diana said that he missed serving the public after retiring from his county post 3 ½ years ago.
“I believe that public service and serving the people through being an elected official, I think, is the utmost in giving back to the community in which you were born and raised,” he said. Diana was born and raised in the neighboring City of Middletown and lived in Wallkill for some 25 years. “It’s like coming back to home.”
Diana told the more than 200 people in attendance that his priorities for the town include public safety, support for veterans and senior citizens, economic development including attracting new uses to shopping centers including recreation. Diana said he would like to see a waterpark locate in the town. And he said he would establish a dog park, a very popular amenity at the county park and other municipalities.
